March 1-9, 2003:
Sand an airfoil into the balsa. Er, I mean edge the composite honeycomb with 3/8" hollow graphite kite spar. I epoxied the graphite with
Aeropoxy filled thickened with West Systems 404 high-density filler and bulked out with cotton flox for easy sanding. I filled the honeycomb on the flat edges with the same stuff.
Mucking around with epoxy:
Wrapping the edges with release cloth to get a relatively smooth surface to minimize sanding:
